The Pillow Parade by Edward Dron
The Pillow Parade is a light, fun book that through its rhymes smoothly captures the imagination and hearts of children. This book demonstrates to young children that everyone is unique and sometimes it’s important to be patient to find those opportunities to shine. This book encapsulates the mental exercise used by many – the simple, repetitive and rhythmic action of counting sheep. Except Edward Dron takes it one step further and shows that sometimes everyone needs help, the sheep and the children; as well as that we all have different talents!
Wonderfully illustrated and the story flows smoothly. I read this book not once, not twice, but three times before they went to sleep – they were fascinated with the artwork, the story, and the rabbit! I finished reading this book to my three grandchildren (ages 2, 3, and 5) and since last weekend, it has become the ONLY book they want to be read to them.
This is a wonderful book that I will highly recommend to caregivers of small children. I know at some point, we will have long discussions and Olive will come up – never give up, always look for the opportunity!
