I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review. This author is a two time A B.R.A.G. MEDALLION HONOREE.
Debunker: Independence Day by Dennis Anthony is a paranormal thriller with mystery, danger and a touch or two of romance. Francis Trecy is an unwilling star of a new TV program called The Skeptic. His role is simple – be his self. Francis is a skeptic who is always trying to debunk the paranormal. He’s good looking, calm, skeptical and really rubs some folks the wrong way both alive and dead.
Francis meets and falls for Marion, a beautiful woman who has captured his heart. After her mysterious disappearance, Francis finds a slew of lovers and learns that perhaps Marion wasn’t as she appeared in more ways than one. While searching obsessively for Marion, Francis and his TV team of investigators are sent to Gettysburg to investigate Culp’s Hill where a notorious and vicious battle took place.
“The song you heard was probably some kind of bleed over. Lots of spirituality floating around in these places. Did you hear any other unusual sounds? Noises? Phenomena?”
Their job far from over, Francis and Parker (psychic team member) discover a cave with a demon bird, and ghostly soldiers. On the Hill, Francis and Parker see soldiers repeating their deaths and the battle eternally. They must rescue them all but one in particular and he knows Marion! Facing certain death both Francis and Parker enter into the fray …who will emerge?
Anthony does an excellent job of character building and growing. The plot is executed boldly and engagingly. Anthony tells the story in a way that captures the reader enabling them to feel and be a part of the story. In these days, the number of paranormal researchers and investigators, which search out locations and ghosts this book allows the reader to learn as well as to connect with their inner researcher and skeptic.
Anthony is creative and has a unique ability to draw in the reader. His research and storytelling ability makes his stories enthralling.
When I read Debunker: Psychic Storm I couldn’t wait to read Debunker: Independence. Now, I understand there is a third in the series due out soon – I cannot wait. Reading these books is a pleasure – they flow smoothly, they have those “AHA” moments as well as OMG ones.
This series of books by Dennis Anthony receives a 5 star review from WordsAPlenty.
